Davenport Lyons has advised on the film financing for Casino Royale, the latest James Bond film.
Davenport’s film finance team, led by partner Sam Tatton-Brown, advised Alliance & Leicester Commercial Banking on the multi-million pound deal to support the film.
The team advised Alliance & Leicester on the Letter of Credit to support Invicta Capital, which purchased the sale and leaseback rights to the film this week.
The investors have taken advantage of a tax loophole to finance British films, which is set to close in the next few months.
Tatton-Brown’s expertise is not restricted to tuxedo blockbusters. He also advised on the financing for Ken Loach’s “The Wind that Shakes the Barley”, which won the Palm d’Or at Cannes this year.
