Unfortunately, he was on an aeroplane at the time and Whitehouse ignored the pleas of crew that his attempts to send the message "I love you" to his ex-girlfriend were endangering the lives of the plane's 91 occupants. Whitehouse, who admits his behaviour was "unnecessarily awkward", is now in the dock at Manchester Crown Court facing charges of endangering an aircraft.
