Cartwrights set to open Cardiff office

Bristol-based firm Cart-wrights is opening an office in Cardiff after growing demand from clients for a presence in the region.

The 15-partner firm has decided to set up a second office to expand its practice and provide clients with better support on the ground.

The firm acts for more than 20 of the FTSE 100 companies, but refuses to name which ones.

Managing partner Christopher Eskell says: “Cardiff is a dynamic business community and it was felt that this met the strategic requirements of a number of our clients.

“The Assembly also means businesses want a presence in Wales, so we wish to support our clients who are moving over there.”

The Cardiff office will have a permanent staff of five, with another five partners dividing their work between the new office and Bristol.

Cartwrights is a specialist firm focusing on leisure, licensing and transport clients.

The new office will practice claims resolution, commercial and computer/IT law, commercial property and employment law.

Eskell says: “We will be reviewing the progress of the office and our aim is to grow it and develop it.

“We will be able to provide the full range of back-up services to the office by link-ups with our people in Bristol.”

He adds: “There are no immediate plans to open offices elsewhere. “
