The reunification of Italian law firm Carnelutti to fight back against English law firms has been undermined by a schism in the Milan office. It has emerged that only five of the Milan office's 16 partners have merged with Carnelutti in Rome. The remaining 11 objected to the merger and formed a new partnership Vita Samory, Fabbrini e Associati. Carnelutti in London continues to serve both sets of partners. Francesco Seassaro, resident partner in the London office, said: "No definite agreement has been reached with regard to the London office."
