Lichfield firm Keelys has promoted associate partner Trevor Wright to be a full partner and head of the private client department. Wright joined Keelys last autumn from Burton-on-Trent firm Timms where he was head of the family department.
East Midlands firm The Smith Partnership has promoted four lawyers to the partnership, bringing the firm's total number of partners to 20. Ruth Jones and Muctar Johal become salaried partners, while Bina Modi and Melanie Bridgen have become associate partners. Jones and Johal both joined in 1999 while Modi and Bridgen joined in 2002.
Dawsons has recruited a new consultant. Michael Carl joins from Eversheds. Previously, he was a partner at Herbert Smith. Carl is a specialist in cross-border corporate transactions, and international commercial and cross-border litigation, including art law.
Brigitte Chandler, an industrial disease specialist, has become an equity partner at Charles Lucas & Marshall. Chandler was a partner at Thring Townsend for 28 years and moved her industrial disease practice to Charles Lucas & Marshall two years ago.
