East Midlands firm Roythornes has taken the unusual step of appointing a non-lawyer to its newly-created post of chief executive. Terry Hope, a chartered accountant, has been finance manager at the firm for nine years. The move follows a rebranding programme. It also sees an end to the managing partner role at the firm. Paul Osborne, the last occupant, will become senior partner.
