Cobbetts has made promotions across its offices in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. The promotions increase the partner-count from 125 to 132, while 12 solicitors have been promoted to associates. Sefton Collett, Ian Riggs and Adrian Cutler have become salaried partners in corporate while Joel Heap and Andy Leach have become litigation partners. Lesley Smythe becomes a family law partner and Ross Griffiths a public services partner.
North West firm DWF has hired property partner Claire Chapman from Eversheds’ Manchester office, where she was a senior lawyer. DWF’s property team now has 11 partners. The firm has also won a place, along with DLA, on the property panel for the Manchester Airport Group.
Speechly Bircham has promoted Lewis Cohen to a partner in the construction practice. Cohen specialises in dispute resolution for the construction and engineering sector. The firm now has 48 partners.
Commercial law firm hlw has added three new members to its team and made two internal promotions. James Bullock has been promoted from assistant corporate solicitor to associate while solicitor Anna Deans has joined the commercial litigation team. Sobiya Hussain, who trained at hlw, has qualified in the commercial property department.
