Clifford Chance has hired Stanislas Martin as of counsel in its Paris antitrust group. Until recently he was deputy financial adviser at the French Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels.

Manchester firm Berg Legal has appointed Tim Mears as senior solicitor in the commercial litigation group. Mears joins from Beachcroft Wansbroughs.

Manchester firm Turner Parkinson has hired Ian Fitzpatrick as a partner in the litigation group from Lopian Wagner. He will replace Malcolm Hunnisett as head of department when he retires from the role in April.

US firm McDermott Will & Emery has promoted four London-based associates to the partnership. Katie Clark, Davina Garrod, Nicola Purcell and William Yonge joined the partnership with effect from 1 January.

Boston firm Brown Rudnick has hired Peter Declercq as a partner in its London-based bankruptcy and finance team. He was formerly counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

US firm Shearman & Sterling has elected Patrick Clancy and George Karafotias to its London partnership, bringing the number of partners in the office to 25.
