City firm Dawsons has boosted its corporate department with the promotion to partner of Ute Mueller. Mueller, who qualified in Germany in 1997 and joined the firm three years ago, specialises in international law.

IBB Solicitors has hired a barrister to swell its commercial dispute resolution team. Afolabi Euba, previously in-house at Network Rail Infrastructure, joins the Uxbridge firm’s 10-strong niche property litigation practice.

Bristol’s Burroughs Day has snared a new partner to head its
family team. Richard Bebb joins the 16-partner firm from London’s Cartwright Cunningham Haselgrove & Co, where he also led the family team.

Welsh firm Hugh James has unveiled a record number of promotions across a series of departments. Clare Griffiths, Richard Lane, Gwenno Hughes and Peter Hurn have all been made associates in the business services team. Dominic Weir, Gwen Evans and Simon Ellis have reached associate level in the claimant department, where they are joined by Jonathan Rees and Gavin Evans as senior associates. Martin Jones and Paul Rogers have been made up to senior associate, in the public-funded division and business litigation team respectively.
