The Institute of Legal Executives (Ilex) has welcomed government proposals to establish a single Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR), calling it "a positive step towards tackling discrimination and inequality issues". The CEHR will attempt to improve human rights, promote good relations between communities and handle equality and diversity issues. "Ilex welcomes the Government's commitment to overcoming discrimination, but stresses that the CEHR will need to be properly supported in order to be successful," the organisation said in a statement.
