Peter Godber, the driving force behind the LGG training unit for lawyers in local government, is to leave the organisation he set up 20 years ago. Godber, who launched LGG in 1984,will develop his own management and skills training consultancy, offering courses on in-house management and leadership skills. LGG represents around 3,200 lawyers working in local government and is frequently used by lawyers at City firms, including Clifford Chance and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
West Midlands firm Challinors Lyon Clark has launched a scheme with chartered surveyors Blizzards, combining legal expertise with technical know-how. Keith Blizzard has joined the 26-partner firm to create Challinors Blizzard, which will advise on construction and property disputes. He will be joined by Peter McHugh and Andrew Cave.
