Reed Smith is to launch a professional development and leadership initiative for its staff this autumn. Reed Smith University will be run in conjunction with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and its executive education division.
The project will include five specific disciplines: business development, technology, professional support, leadership and law.
Legal training provider LGG is celebrating 20 years working alongside local government lawyers. Founded in 1984 by director of training Peter Godber, the organisation acts as the training arm of the Solicitors in Local Government group and represents 3,200 local authority lawyers, as well as running nearly 200 courses per year. City firms including Freshfields and Clifford Chance frequently use LGG services for their own lawyers.
