A survey of 25,000 small and medium-size business customers by web-hosting provider 1&1 Internet, designed to measure the financial impact of websites for small UK businesses, found that 77 per cent of the professions acknowledged a link between the launch of a website and the rise in their sales revenue. More than 22 per cent (or 1 business in 5) from the professions received 100 per cent of new sales revenue solely from their website. The survey also asked customers about sourcing services and found that 87 per cent of respondents thought it was either ‘useful’ or ‘very useful’ to use the internet to locate information on small local businesses.
