Ward Hadaway appointed five partners in 2006-07, 50 per cent less than the previous year.
After seven internal promotions in 2005-06, opportunities for associates declined in number, with just three appointments in 2006-07, the same as in 2004-05.
However, Ward Hadaway has stayed true to its policy of making more internal promotions than outside appointments, with the commercial litigation and real estate teams being the main beneficiaries.
