Travers Smith went soft and cuddly in 2006, introducing the alternative career path to partnership of an of counsel role.
Although there is some way to go before anything close to parity is reached (only 13 per cent of equity partners are female), the firm can lay claim to 4 per cent of the equity partnership coming from ethnic minorities.
Internal promotions remain the firm’s growth model, with four in 2006 and five in 2005. There have been no lateral hires in more than four years. Corporate remains the most prolific department with five of the appointments in the past two years.
