Stephenson Harwood has said goodbye to 18 partners in the last three financial years, while appointing 19 in the last two to plug the gap. Of those, just three were internal promotions compared with 15 lateral hires. The partnership has been in flux since a period of restructuring that followed the firm’s 2002 merger with Sinclair Roche & Temperley. But Stephensons is now focusing on building up its corporate and finance teams, increasing future possibilities for lawyers who practise in those areas.
