* Figures supplied relate to the calendar year
In the past three years, Dundas &
Wilson has promoted five internal
candidates to the partnership and
hired 13 laterals. (These figures do
not include two more London
partner appointments at the
beginning of 2006 in construction
and technology.)
The laterals are spread evenly across
most practice areas, with corporate
offering marginally more opportunities
(two lateral partners in 2004 and
one in 2005). The last time Dundas
& Wilson promoted a corporate
partner internally was in 2003.
Pensions saw a growth in 2005,
with one lateral and one internal.
Things have been bleaker for
banking, with no internal promotion
in three years and just one lateral. The
firm has not appointed a litigation
partner for three years, either
internally or laterally.
