Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) has a good record of promoting internally with total partnership promotions regularly outweighing lateral hires. But that includes promotions from the salaried level, known as associate partners at DAC, to the equity partnership. DAC’s core areas of real estate and dispute resolution have consistently received the bulk of promotions, while the firm has tapped the market to boost other practice areas.
Both disputes and construction had new recruits in 2006-07, while the firm’s insurance practice has recruited in previous years. 2006-07 was the first year in three years that the firm’s Madrid office did not receive any new partners.
