For the third consecutive year, Bircham Dyson Bell has failed to promote any of its associates to the partnership. It has not made any internal promotions since 2003-04, when three were made up in the traditional sectors of employment, private client and litigation.
The firm has since looked to move away from its traditional Westminster client base to focus more on commercial projects and real estate work. Bircham did, however, introduce a career development programme and competency framework for all solicitors in 2006-07 in a bid to improve associate retention.
