In the past three years, North West firm Brabners Chaffe Street has promoted a total of four partners internally and made six lateral hires. Litigation heads the field, with a total of three partners in three years, with corporate and property managing two apiece. However, two of the three litigation partners have been external candidates; internal promotions tend to favour non-contentious areas, in particular corporate.

Liverpool has been the most successful at getting new partners, managing five in four years. This has been followed closely by Manchester with four, while the outlying Preston office has managed one, in employment.
