`Commercial, public law and employment specialist Adam Solomon joins from Cardinal Chambers. Cloisters’ former senior clerk Michael Martin left Cloisters and set up Cardinal in June 1999.`Others joining are personal injury (PI) and employment expert Paul Michell, 44, who arrives from Bridewell Chambers, and PI and employment practitioner Damian McCarthy from Tanwell Chambers.`Solomon is one of four barristers who have left Cardinal since it opened its doors. Cardinal’s first junior clerk, Rod McGurk, said: “Solomon is a fantastic barrister and it is a great move. Cloisters has a good infrastructure for clients, particularly in its IT facilities.”`Other members who have left Cardinal are Mark Afeeva, who joined Matrix Chambers; Leon Stringer, who left the bar in April to join a commercial firm; and Peter Nugent, who was tempted away by small London criminal law firm Carroll Zeb.
Cloisters chambers has hired three more barristers, bringing the number of recruits to six since its criminal section split off.
