Healthcare specialist Capsticks continued its run of solid results in 2011-12 with a 1 per cent rise in total turnover to £30.1m.
Considering that its core market is the public sector, any increase at all in the current environment has to be seen as a reasonable result, even if it is less spectacular than the previous year’s 13 per cent rise.
Average profit per equity partner did take a 4 per cent hit to £409,000, however, partly as a result of the addition of two new equity partners.
One of the new partners, regulatory specialist Mark Whiting, was made up partly on the back of his involvement in Capsticks’ drive for achieving greater efficiencies through the use of technology. Another two equity partners were added in May 2012.
Key client wins during the year included the James Paget University Hospital in Norfolk, the reappointment to the General Dental Council’s panel and continued success in the area of social enterprises.
The firm’s managing director Alison Morley said that regular quarterly billing, the widespread use of fixed fees and tight internal controls are key factors behind the firm’s tight financial management.
