BRISTOL-based firm Bevan Ashford has won a three-way pitch to handle legal advice for one of London's biggest teaching hospital trusts, St George's Healthcare NHS Trust of Tooting, south London.
The firm beat off rival London practices Beachcroft Stanleys and incumbents Capsticks, following a tendering process which began last August.
Bevan Ashford has now begun handling the majority of work in the areas of medical litigation, commercial and constitutional issues and employment and property law, says the trust.
Work is being handled from Bristol, although the firm maintains a London office for necessary meetings in London.
The firm's other appointments in the NHS sector over the last nine months include Kingston and District Community NHS Trust, West London Healthcare NHS Trust, Swindon and Marlborough Hospitals NHS Trust and NHS Estates.
"We have been very successful in London and along the M4, and across the South Coast," says a spokeswoman for the firm. "But we are also in the Midlands and the North West, so we are moving up the M5 as well as the M4."
