Campbell, Mark – Hot 100

Not content to rest on his management laurels, Clifford Chance’s global head of banking is also one of the firm’s most prolific billers and a driving force behind the firm’s formidable acquisition finance practice – the best in the City and which brings in more than 10 per cent of the entire turnover of the London office.

As relationship partner for Barclays, a role he shares with Robert Smith, Mark Campbell has scooped some of this year’s meatiest deals, including advising Barclays Capital on Terra Firma’s LBO for the UCI and Odeon cinema chains.

Campbell also advised the lead arrangers on the $4.4bn (£2.3bn) acquisition of Grey Goose vodka by Bacardi.

And in his spare time, Campbell was busy helping to formulate the standard leveraged finance document for the Loan Market Association – which will have a lasting effect on the way banking lawyers do business.
