Camerons' trainees take part in 130 mile trek for charity

A group of CMS Cameron McKenna trainee solicitors are embarking on a gruelling trek between their London and Bristol offices for charity next week.

On 19 January, the nine trainees and the graduate recruitment partner Simon Pilcher will begin the four-day, 130 mile journey in a bid to raise £5,000 for charity partner Special Olympics GB.

One trainee solicitor Andrew Parsons said: “We’re proud to be working with such an amazing organisation and are really enthusiastic about meeting our goal for sponsorship.

“We’ll be walking up to 34 miles a day to reach our goal in just four days and we’ll be joined along the way by athletes from Special Olympics clubs across the country.”

The firm entered into a bi-annual charity partnership with Special Olympics GB last year to support over 8000 people with learning disabilities in the UK.

In the past, members of the law firm have completed a 24-hour relay around London and completed the Three Peaks Challenge raising over £18,000 for their bi-annual charities.

“When some of our trainees suggested a walk to Bristol it sounded a fun idea. It was far too late when I discovered it was to be in January and we had to do it all in one go,” added Pilcher.

“It’s going to be gruelling, but hopefully a lot of fun and it’s raising money for a really good cause.”
