A CMS Cameron McKenna trainee solicitor has been put under the spotlight in a documentary on legal careers to be aired on SKY TV.
Would-be lawyer Mary Gemmell joined newly qualified solicitor Hussain Kubba, graduate recruitment partner Simon Pilcher and senior partner Richard Price for the Sky Channel 166 (Information TV) and Freesat channel 406 show.
The programme, presented by Top Of The Pops star Gail Porter, has been created to highlight the various routes you can take into the legal profession and showcase what its like to work for a City law firm.
Gemmell, who is in her third seat with Camerons, said although facing the cameras was a little nerve-wracking, it is important to use the media to give graduates alternative careers advice.
I didnt go down the traditional law degree route because I did music at university. So I think its important to let students know that you dont have to decide your whole career at 17-years-old but you can do a conversion course after you finish university, explained Gemmell.
Pensions lawyer Pilcher also made his debut TV appearance on the show, which will be aired early next year.
It was an exciting project to get involved in because using the medium of television gives students a much clearer insight into what becoming a lawyer entails," said Pilcher.
The show was made by independent media compay Fusion Broadcasting.
