Camerons to generate cocktail chat from a computer
Those awkward moments when overworked City lawyers momentarily forget a client’s name are soon to be a thing of the past, if a new scheme from CMS Cameron McKenna catches on.

Duncan Weston
The firm has designed a computer program, dubbed ’Reflect’, which gives partners and associates agenda documents and conversation topics to use when wining and dining clients.
Reflect will provide fee-earners with information round-ups about clients and their sectors as well as the latest news about the firm and details of new products they can punt.
So keen is the firm on pushing its latest innovation that posters have even been put up in the toilets. But Camerons was at pains to point out that the scheme is not designed simply to give partners easy chat-up lines.
“It’s not supposed to replace the personal touch,” said managing partner Duncan Weston.
The firm aims to have at least two meetings annually using Reflect agendas with each of its top 600 clients.
Business development director Judith Prime, who designed the program, said that Camerons was ”responding to client feedback”.

I thought this was an early April Fool. Reminds me of the Monty Python "conversation cards" sketch in the Meaning of Life. It's says a lot about how dull they think some of their lawyers must be if they have to resort to this. Having been on the end of bad lawyer marketing as a client, can' think this will make things any better..

They already have a name for the program: "chit-chat like Duncan".

It's more of a methodology for understanding your clients, rather than a 'computer program'

If you were addressing me or Arthur I understand that the word 'your' was also addressed to me or Arthur. If that is the case, what does the methodolgy have to do with my or Arthur's clients?
Just having a laugh. The story does carry a funny headline after all.
