Camerons swoops on Poland arm of US firm

Cameron McKenna has taken five Polish lawyers from the Warsaw office of US firm White & Case to bolster its own energy practice in the city.

Dariusz Mioduski, Andrzej Blach, Tomasz Minkiewicz, Dariusz Turek and Rafal Hajduk have joined the office in anticipation of an increase in projects in the energy sector.

The firm advised the Polish government on the recently enacted Energy Law which paves the way for the liberalisation of the industry.

Andrew Koslowski, the partner in charge of Camerons' energy and projects group in Warsaw, said: "Poland is on the verge of seeing dramatic investments in the energy sector. I am certain that expanding the depth of our energy practice will help us capitalise on these market opportunities and enhance the support we can offer to our current energy clients in the region."

The firm was also recently appointed by the independent energy regulator in California to develop and implement complex regulations introducing the concept of competition to the sector.
