CMS Cameron McKenna's new head of immigration is to be followed to the firm by her former team from Reed Smith.
Caron Pope, Reed Smith's former UK head of immigration, is taking her associate Deirdre Murphy and two paralegals with her to Camerons.
The departures mean that Reed Smith is left with just one London immigration partner in Peter Alfandary. He said: "Obviously our capability to do the big volume work isn't there right now, but I'll be continuing my expertise in the area."
He has no plans to replace those leaving, he added.
The arrivals bump up Camerons' immigration team to 25 lawyers. The immigration and employment groups at Camerons are being merged to achieve financial integration over the coming months, with the combined team boasting 33 lawyers, led by HR sector head Anthony Fincham.
Fincham said: "Immigration is a very important practice area and we needed someone who's a recognised and regarded lawyer, which Caron is."
