Camerons reallocates to save seven associates from the axe

CMS Cameron McKenna is hoping to avoid redundancies in its real estate group and has rehoused four of the seven associates whose jobs were put under review last month.

Four have been retrained and moved to other practice areas, including corporate, planning and projects, while the remaining three are still in negotiations.

Managing partner Duncan Weston has made it clear he would like to avoid redundancies by shifting resources.

Five corporate lawyers have relocated to the firm’s offices ;in ;Central ;and Eastern Europe this year and six paralegals in the Bristol plot sales division have been sent to work in-house at client Taylor Wimpey.

Two senior business services staff have left the firm since Weston’s overhaul of the firm’s management structure in September. Head ;of ;HR ;Dianne Gwynne ;resigned ;and director ;of ;marketing Jeremy Knott was laid off.
