Camerons partner goes to Eversheds

National firm Eversheds has hired a banking partner from City firm Cameron McKenna.

Robin Parsons, who is 50, has been a lawyer for 25 years and has worked on some high profile deals such as the u1bn United News & Media merger financing, the Goodman International IRu700m rescue and the William Hill/Brent Walker financing.

He says: “I have been given the opportunity to develop the banking group here. It's quite a small group but it is on five or six different panels of banks and they can't exploit them fully on their own.”

Having trained at Clifford Chance, he qualified in 1973 and joined Cameron Markby Hewitt in 1975, where he became partner in just two years.

He says: “Eversheds is a unique firm growing rapidly. It's a bit unusual to move at my age, but I'm really excited about the next 10 years.”

A Cameron McKenna spokesman says: “Robin has been with the firm for many years and he was offered an opportunity by Eversheds which he obviously found exciting.

“His leaving is just natural turnover and we wish him the very best.”
