CMS Cameron McKenna’s fledgling Ukraine office has won an instruction from start-up airline Wizz Air Ukraine.
The ;firm ;saw ;off Chadbourne & Parke, Wizz Air’s other legal adviser in Ukraine, to act on the leasing of the company’s first aircraft, an Airbus A230-200.
The company leasing the aircraft, General Electric Commercial ;Aviation Services, turned to Clifford Chance ;and ;associate Antony Single.
Wizz Air Ukraine is a subsidiary of Hungary-based Wizz Air. It is currently operating domestic flights but hopes to expand its fleet and begin international flights in a bid to tap into the fast-growing market for air travel in Eastern Europe.
Camerons’ ;Ukraine senior partner Olexander Martinenko said: “Given the record increase in air passengers, we think more instructions are likely.”
The company had originally used Chadbourne & Parke on the leasing deal but transferred to Camerons early in 2008.
