SJ Berwin's former head of construction Ian Insley has resurfaced at CMS Cameron McKenna.
Insley announced his departure from SJ Berwin in June, with the firm appointing partner Julia Court as his replacement in the head of department role. At the time, the official line was that Insley was taking time out to pursue other interests.
Insley said: "I'd been at SJB for 21 years and felt it was time for a change. I've known the people at Camerons for a while so when they asked if I wanted to come and join them, I didn't hesitate."
Insley has joined Camerons' non-contentious construction practice as a consultant following 19 years as a partner at SJ Berwin.
Insley started up the firm's construction practice, boasting clients such as British Land and Quintain Estates, for whom Insley worked on the recent sale of a Wembley retail park. He also has a particular focus on aviation.
Camerons' construction clients include Prudential and the Crown Estate. Department head Victoria Peckett said: "Ian Insley is one of the leaders in the construction law and we are thrilled that he will be joining us at CMS Cameron McKenna."
