This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Cameron McKenna last week became the first law firm to be named "Consultancy of the Year" by the British Consultants Bureau at its annual awards ceremony.
Camerons won the accolade for the work of its energy and projects practice in restructuring the Californian electricity market.
Camerons team of partners led by Fiona Woolf, head of Camerons energy and projects practice, was brought in by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in January 1997, after two and a half years of debate over the design by utilities and stakeholders in California.
Woolf and her team had 10 weeks to complete the design work and file all the necessary documentation.
Woolf described the work as "adding value in the business sense to make sure the deal gets done as quickly as possible".
Robert Derry-Evans, managing partner, said: "You need to understand exactly what the client is trying to achieve and in this case the business consultancy element was effectively a larger part of it."
