Litigation partner Michael Horowitz to serve on United States Sentencing Commission
Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft will be sharing one of its partners with the United States Sentencing Commission for a term of six years. US president George W. Bush has announced his intention to nominate Michael Horowitz, a litigation partner in the firms Washington office, for a place on the seven-person body. The Commissions duties include developing guidelines for sentencing in federal courts; collecting data about crime and sentencing; and serving as a resource to Congress, the Executive Branch, and the Judiciary on crime and sentencing policy. Horowitz will remain with Cadwalader and continue to be an active member of the business fraud and complex litigation practice. Prior to joining Cadwalader, he served as a Chief of Staff and Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
