This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Burges Salmon has made its largest round of partnership promotions in three years, with six associates joining the equity.
Camilla Usher-Clark, Mark Shepherd, and Graham Soar join the corporate and financial institutions practice, swelling the firm’s largest practice group to 19 partners.
Two associates have been promoted in the commercial practice, with Keith Beattie and John Houlden joining the equity. They bring the number of partners in the commercial practice to 12, slightly fewer than the firm’s 14-partner strong real estate group.
Commercial disputes and construction associate Ann Matherall was also promoted to the partnership.
This latest round of promotions reinforce Burges Salmon’s reputation for preferring to grow its partnership base organically.
Since 2003 the firm has made just five lateral hires, compared with 29 internal partnership appointments.
The firm now has 72 partners up from 64 in 2007 and 63 in 2006.
