Burges Salmon adds former Clifford Chance partner to litigation team

McCormick, an insurance specialist, joins the Bristol-headquartered firm following a short career break. She becomes the firm’s 70th partner.

It follows disputes lawyer Steven James’s escalation to partner in the firm’s promotions round earlier this year, which took the partner count to 69 (7 March 2011).

Managing partner Peter Morris said: “While we’re very much committed to developing talent within the firm, we can’t let opportunities to secure leading individuals such as this pass us by.

“Kari will be a tremendous asset to the firm, working alongside [disputes head] Paul Haggett and the team, and her experience will be an excellent fit with our portfolio of national and international clients.”
