Spanish law firm Bufete Mullerat has merged with local law firm Echarri & Brindle to create a nine-partner firm with over 50 lawyers.
Bufete, which has practices in Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, will gain offices in Seville and San Sebastian. Senior partner Ramon Mullerat says: "We want to stay independent, grow organically, increase our critical mass and affirm our position as an independent international firm throughout the Iberian Peninsula."
Both firms are experienced in M&A, real estate, securities, intellectual property and environmental law. Bufete has a strong litigation and international commercial arbitration practice, while Echarri brings a team specialising in national and international franchising and distribution law. Clients include national and international companies in finance, industry and business.
The merger comes amid increasing competition for good lawyers in the Spanish legal market, where mobility is increasingly common.
