Pittsburgh firm Buchanan Ingersoll is taking on a partner from City media practice Tarlo Lyons to ramp up its technology capability.
George Gardiner moves to the firm hot on the heels of top media and intellectual property lawyer Michael Henry, who joined Buchanans in August from H2O, formerly Henry Hepworth (The Lawyer, 14 August).
Gardiner will concentrate on e-commerce and new media convergence issues, as well as covering technology outsourcing, software development and procurement, brand protection and privacy issues.
At Tarlo Lyons he worked with clients which included dotcom start-ups and financial institutions, ranging from banks such as Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and Standard Chartered to technology companies such as Mediasurface and Progress Software.
Gardiner says: "One of the things that attracted me to Buchanans is the access the firm gives me to the US market."
