US firm Buchanan Ingersoll has taken the two remaining partners left looking for new posts after the closure of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal's London office last month.
Commercial property partner Rupert Jones, corporate and commercial partner Jonathan Griffiths and associate Laurence Relton have moved to Buchanan Ingersoll. They joined the Pennsylvania-based firm's European practice on Friday (7 January).
Jerome Mansmann, chairman of Buchanan Ingersoll, says: "Taking on this group helps us to fill certain key areas of expertise in support of our recent hiring of Barry Francis and his team from Beachcroft Wansbroughs."
Warner Cranston has taken Sonnenschein's former London managing partner Peter Borrowdale for its corporate and finance department.
Sonnenschein pulled out of merger talks with Warner Cranston in September. At the same time it decided to quit London entirely.
Warner Cranston's senior partner Peter Alfandary says: "We did have exploratory talks with Sonnenschein which, in the event, did not go any further."
US work represents about 30 per cent of Warner Cranston's total turnover. Alfandary says that Borrowdale, who joins the firm today (Monday), will be advising both UK and US clients.
Another former Sonnenschein partner, Antoinette Jucker, has returned to her former firm DJ Freeman.
