Brodies woos Semple Fraser partner

Scottish firm Brodies has bolstered its restructuring and insolvency practice with the hire of Semple Fraser partner Rachel Grant.

Grant ;advises ;on ;both contentious ;and ;non-contentious issues and counts insolvency practitioners and government departments among her clients.

“Brodies has always been around and recognised as a reputable firm,” said Grant. “Over the last few years it’s been expanding and becoming very much more commercial, so I was attracted by its reputation and the fact that it’s going places.”

At Brodies Grant will work alongside corporate restructuring and insolvency head Colin McIntosh, who joined the firm from DLA Piper earlier this year.

Semple Fraser managing partner Alister Fraser said Grant’s departure would not be too keenly felt because the firm hired DLA Piper insolvency partner Gordon Hollerin and associate Fiona Carlin to bolster the team four months ago.
