Brodies partners have re-elected managing partner Bill Drummond for a sixth term in the role following an uncontested election.
Drummond will begin his next three-year term on 1 May 2013 after winning backing from the partners last month (November 2012).
Drummond was first elected managing partner in 1998. During his tenure, Brodies has grown from around 175 staff and £8m turnover, to 538 staff and £42.8m. Net profit, meanwhile, has grown from £2.5m to £17.6m. The Edinburgh-headquartered firm has also opened offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Brussels.
In a statement, Brodies chairman Joyce Cullen said: “Bill may be one of the UK’s longest-serving managing partners but his passion for the job and his determination constantly to improve the service we offer our clients - long-standing and new - are undiminished.
“Under his leadership, Brodies has been able to achieve, and in some cases surpass, a series of ambitious growth and quality targets and has brought together for the benefit of clients a team of talented lawyers, whose knowledge and expertise is, I believe, unparalleled in and completely relevant to Scotland in 2012.”
