Top-Five Scottish firm, Brodies, has just appointed its new managing partner, Bill Drummond, after a partner-wide election process. He will take over the post on 1 May for three years.
Drummond specialises in commercial property and will combine maintaining ties with a number of existing clients with his management role.
He will succeed George Taylor, who has been managing partner for six years, and retires as a partner but will stay on as a consultant.
Drummond and senior partner Ronald Gardiner will head a newly-elected slimline management board which also includes litigation and employment partner Joyce Cullen, head of the private client department David Houldsworth and corporate partner Charles Smith.
The board will implement the firm's new five-year business plan to grow its core areas and expand into areas such as PFI, planning, environment, employment and tax.
Drummond said: 'These changes should be viewed as a logical progression of the firm's development over recent years and we hope, through them, to bring greater emphasis to the efficient and economic provision of business advice to the firm's existing client-base.'
