Brobeck scoops deal from Sullivan

Brobeck Hale and Dorr has beat Sullivan & Cromwell to advise Infineon Technologies in Germany's largest equity offering this year.

Infineon is Europe's second-largest semiconductor manufacturer and its initial public offering (IPO) in March 2000 was one of the largest ever in the technology sector, raising euro6.1bn (£3.7bn).
On the IPO, Brobeck advised global coordinator Goldman Sachs as US counsel alongside German counsel Hengeler Mueller. Sullivan & Cromwell acted as US counsel to the company and Clifford Chance Pünder acted as local counsel.
Now Infineon has completed a euro1.4bn (£858.9m) follow-on offering on the Frankfurt and New York Stock Exchanges, the largest in Germany this year. On this deal, Brobeck is acting with Clifford Chance for the company and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton is acting for Goldman Sachs with Hengeler.
