Latham & Watkins has lost partner Craig Andrews to Brobeck Phleger & Harrison after just four months
Andrews, former chair of Brobeck's business and technology group, returned to its San Diego office, having left in 2000 for an in-house role at AirFiber. He joined Latham last September and was held to be one of the firm's key potential rainmakers. His return to the office he helped set up is understood to be in preparation for a role as vice-chairman of the policy committee. This role should be confirmed following a formal vote of the partnership. Andrews said: "I'm proud to have been a partner at Latham, but Brobeck has made me an offer to rejoin my old colleagues and participate with the firm's new management team in setting the firm's strategic direction." Unfortunately for Latham, his move follows four other recent partner defections.
