Broadway House opens set in Leeds

Bradford's only set of chambers, Broadway House Chambers, is expanding its operation by opening new premises in Leeds.

The 31-tenant set, headed by Graham Hyland QC and established for more than 70 years, is also planning to recruit additional criminal and family barristers.

Senior clerk Neil Appleyard says the aim is to improve the service to existing clients, many of whom are based in Leeds, and to attract new work from this growing provincial market.

One of Manchester's leading sets, 40 King Street, recently opened an annex in Leeds. Broadway House senior tenant Martin Wood says a lot of solicitors' firms are gravitating there.

“I know that Leeds is being targeted by a number of London sets at the moment,” he says. “And we want to be perceived to be at the very heart of things. We have to get a prominent profile.”
