IP firm Bristows has re-energised its partnership with the promotion of two associates.
Andy Bowler and Liz Cohen have been elevated to partner level in a move that marks the continuation of a rebuilding process following an unexpected five-partner exodus last year.
Patent litigators Penny Gilbert, Tim Powell, Simon Ayrton, Zoe Butler and Alex Wilson rocked the firm by leaving to set up Powell Gilbert in March.
Bowler specialises in contentious intellectual property matters with particular emphasis on patents and trademarks. He is regularly involved in the co-ordination of proceedings with parallel actions in the EU.
Meanwhile, Cohen is an expert in patent litigation, biotechnology and healthcare regulatory issues. She often represents UK and international clients in patent proceedings before the UK courts and the UK patent office.
Philip Westmacott, Bristows head of IP, said: "Andy and Liz are held in high regard by their clients and their colleagues because of their extensive knowledge and capability in their practice areas."
