Bristol Junior Lawyers Division will fundraise for Children’s Hospice South West next year after raising nearly £5,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society in 2012.
Last month Bristol JLD presented £4929.06 to the Alzheimer’s Society which will use the funds to support the continued work of the charity in helping those affected by dementia.
Bristol JLD raised the money through a variety of events including their annual ball, pub quizzes and prize raffles while the committee’s vice-chair Ali Batchelor of Withy King LLP and charity liaison Laura Cavill of RAC Legal Services ran the Bath and Bristol half marathons respectively.
The JLD Chair, Nicola Cunnington of DAC Beachcroft commented: “It’s been another great year for us both in terms of fundraising and the quality of the events which we have put on for our members. It is wonderful to give such an impressive amount to the charity and to know that the money will be put to good use in the local area.
“We’ve set the bar high with this cheque amount but I’ve no doubt that the committee will be very keen to try to exceed this amount next year.”
