The latest on European proposals to modernise trademark law and procedure
Last week, the European Commission presented a package of initiatives ‘to make trademark registration quicker and more reliable and predictable’. The drafts are in provisional form and follow a European Commission-commissioned study undertaken by the Max Planck Institute and published in March 2011. Following on from the report, the commission announced a review of the trademark system in Europe with a view to modernising the system, both at EU and national level.
