Sony insurers win riots damages claim against Met bosses
The repercussions from the riots of August 2011 continue to reverberate. The inquest into the death of Mark Duggan, whose shooting sparked the riots, is currently under way at the Royal Courts of Justice. Meanwhile, less than a week ago, the Commercial Court gave judgment on the Met’s liability to compensate Sony’s insurers for loss and damage resulting from the destruction of Sony’s warehouse in the course of those riots…
